In September 2012, Adriana Lima became a mother for the second time and her number of followers quadrupled when she lost all her post-baby fat within a short span of less than weeks to walk the ramp. THE HIIT WAY
HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, which involves repetitions of exercises of high intensity followed by small less intense exercises. Adriana Lima makes use of jump ropes during HIIT to increase her cardiovascular and athletic capacity which contributes to quicker fat loss and effective toning of her body. HIIT routine is one of the main priorities in her workout schedule and helped her in shedding her post pregnancy fat.
MUSCULAR FOCUSED EXERCISES
Adriana also performs high intensity exercises that help her build muscles which give her a desirable body structure. Body weight leg squats and abdominal workouts keep her body toned for photo-shoots. She has specifically stressed that she does not make use of machines or weights for abs but just body sculpting movements which are strenuous and of high intensity.
BOX THE BAG
Adriana loves boxing and makes sure she includes that in her workouts as well. But she just does not do random punching but performs a combination of complex drills with higher velocity and strength. She believes that boxing not just makes her look physically fit due to its cardiovascular nature but also keeps her mentally sharp since it requires her to be precise regarding her movements and balance.
CAPOEIRA AND YOGA
The supermodel also performs Capoeira, which has its origin in the Brazilian culture. It is a martial art that combines dance and music with high speed and power. Adriana also vouches with yoga to give her body the required flexibility. Spinning and jogging also gets featured in her workout plans regularly.

THE BREAKFAST
On a typical day Adriana take oatmeal with raisins and egg whites. On some days she also takes milk or coffee with it. Sometimes she also have Muesli with yogurt or honey. The supermodel follows a control portion diet plan which means her calorie intake go on decreasing as the day progresses.
THE MID-DAY MEAL AND SNACKS
On an average day, Adriana takes fish, chicken or red meat with some vegetables. She usually eats green grilled vegetables. She believes that fibers constitute a significant portion of her lunch which helps in processing the food and prevents the calories from accumulating in her body. For snacks Adriana consumes raw vegetables like cucumbers and carrots that refresh her after a long day. She also takes a little bit of chocolate for energy and a spoonful of honey as well.
THE DINNER
It is widely believed that as much less as possible should be consumed for dinner. Hence, Adriana consumes only salad and nothing else. She believes that keeping it light at night helps her sleep well and keeps her refreshed when she wakes up the other day. Many experts believe this is a special control diet focusing on weight loss and toning.
CONSIDERATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
Adriana follows a special diet that aims at weight loss till a certain point and then maintaining it by increasing slight intake of calories. She usually consumes green vegetables which are either steamed or grilled. She also takes in about 5 ounces of any type of protein and likes to mix different types protein shakes which are labelled by her as Metagenics.
Adriana has herself said that she follows a doctor recommended diet and strictly follows it up with strenuous exercises. Her diet was charted after measuring her vital signs like blood pressure and sugar, which differs from person to person.
