VIDEO: Amazing Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar. Watch video below.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is made by crushing apples and squeezing out the liquid. Bacteria and yeast are added to the liquid to start the alcoholic fermentation process, and the sugars are turned into alcohol. In a second fermentation process, the alcohol is converted into vinegar by acetic acid-forming bacteria. Acetic acid and malic acid give vinegar its sour taste.

Let’s take a look at 10 reasons to use apple cider vinegar:

1. Anti-inflammatory properties:
The anti-inflammatory properties of apple cider vinegar work to help internal inflammation within the gastrointestinal tract when added to salads or taken diluted with water. It helps reduce bloating, belching and heartburns.
Tip: Mix 1 tbsp of ACV with a cup of water and drink when symptoms arise.

2. Boosts the immune system:
70 percent of the immune system lives in the gut. Apple cider vinegar is great for creating ideal conditions for bacteria in the gut, which majorly contributes to a healthy immune system.
Tip: Take 1 tbsp of ACV diluted in 1 cup of water once daily to help boost the immune system.

3. Helps treat dandruff:
Apple cider vinegar has anti-fungal properties, which makes it a potent remedy for treating Malassezia furfur, the fungus that causes dandruff.
Tip: Mix 1/2 cup of ACV with 1/2 cup of water. Pour on to hair slowly and massage onto scalp. Leave for 15 minutes, and rinse out with water.

4. Helps with arthritis:
Apple cider vinegar has potent anti-inflammatory properties and helps with pain of the joints. Inflammation is a main cause of arthritis, and ACV helps reduce this inflammation.
Tip: Mix 2-3 tbsps in a glass of water and drink once a day.

5. Helps treat urinary tract infection:
Apple cider vinegar has potent antibacterial properties, and can kill the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections.
Tip: Mix 2-3 tbsps in a glass of water and drink once a day.

6. Improves digestion:
ACV helps stimulate the digestive juices that are essential to digestion. Taking apple cider vinegar before meals can help prevent indigestion.
Tip: Take 1 tbsp of ACV diluted in 1 cup of water once daily to help boost the immune system.

7. Lowers bad cholesterol:
The presence of pectin in apple cider vinegar helps reduce bad cholesterol in the body. One study published in the British Journal of Nutrition showed that acetic acid found in apple cider vinegar reduces cholesterol in rats.
Tip: Mix 2-3 tbsps in a glass of water and drink once a day.

8. Regulates blood sugar:
The acetic acid in ACV is believed to slow down the digestion of simple carbohydrates. This helps reduce spikes in blood sugar. The anti-glycemic effects of apple cider vinegar have been confirmed in medical studies, including one published in the journal Medscape General Medicine.
Tip: Mix 1 tbsp of ACV into one cup of water and drink before each meal.

9. Rich in minerals:
Potassium, magnesium and many other minerals are found in apple cider vinegar. Potassium controls the water balance in the body. Magnesium helps with digestion.

10. Weight loss:
The acetic acid in ACV may aid in weight loss. Studies show that apple cider vinegar may reduce body weight, body fat mass, and fatty deposits in the liver.
Tip: Mix 1 tbsp of ACV into one cup of water and drink before each meal.
