Similar to our healthy cells, malignant cancer cells need energy to make it through. Dr. Sophia Lunt explains just how she plans to remove cancer cells’ survival potential, as well as leader a brand-new way of halting their development.

Dr. Sophia Lunt began her training in metabolic process at Princeton University, where she received her Ph.D. researching the metabolic repercussions of the antibiotic medicine trimethoprim. As a postdoctoral fellow at MIT, she focused on cancer metabolism, and was awarded the CDMRP PRCRP Visionary Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Department of Defense to sustain her research study. She currently runs a research study lab concentrated on cancer cells metabolic rate at Michigan State University.
