Lion Fight 23 Muay Thai Kickboxing
|With Legacy Kickboxing this past weekend and Glory coming up in August, we are in the midst of three straight weeks of kickboxing/Muay Thai on TV – which should make any fan of the stand-up arts happy.
Coverage of stacked night of Muay Thai action, as Lion Fight returns with Lion Fight 23, July 31 at 10:00 p.m.
Of those three cards, this one is arguably the best, with some really superb Muay Thai fights. As a reminder for those tuning in, this is traditional Muay Thai rules, meaning 5 round fights instead of 3, plus a wider range of allowed techniques including elbows, knees from the clinch, and throws.
In the main event at Lion Fight 23, two of the sport’s most dynamic fighters square off as Thailand’s Malaipet takes on Liam Harrison. Malaipet Sasiprapa is a decorated veteran who has fought all over the world and been a fixture of Lion Fight since the company’s inception. He’s 7-2 in the organization, and is the kind of fighter who can always be counted on for a fun fight. Harrison is one of the UK’s best fighters. He’s taken on a who’s who of international Muay Thai elite fighters, and comes in here off a loss to the excellent Pakorn in March. Hard to envision any way this is not a great fight.
Also on the card, Lion Fight mainstay Tiffany Van Soest takes on the young but dedicated Martyna Krol, who has a good shot at taking out the more highly regarded Van Soest. You also have Kevin Ross taking on Rungrat Sasiprapa, Glory veteran Mike Lemaire in action, Romie Adanza vs. Andy Howson… seriously, this is a great card, all the way top to bottom.
